What is Moleki?
Moleki is a tribute to my three daughters and the inspiration that I have derived from having them in my life. They have challenged me, as any child should; they have taught me gently, and not so gently, lessons that have changed my view of the world; they have added humor to my life; they have opened the faucet of tears through love, joy, frustration and even hurt. They could say the same about me, I am sure. They have dragged me out of my comfort zone many times. They are great examples of pushing past fears of the unknown. They are my heroes. Moleki is dedicated to "the girls" and every one who is a daughter or son of someone. Kids! Take your parents on a journey beyond their comfort zone and have fun...but play nice! Parents! Let the kiddos that the lead for a moment and look at the world through their eyes. It doesn't matter if your child is 5 or 50, surprise them. If you want to kick and scream, that's OK. Be dramatic. Have fun and embellish the experience when you recount it to others!
What will you conquer in 2014? Who doesn't want to jump through fire, crawl in the mud or scale a wall? There are many ways to challenge oneself and accomplish feats that one would never have dreamed possible. I am particularly drawn to obstacle races and intend to participate in my first race this year. It may be my last, but at least I will have done it. My sister is going to join me. We aren't extremely fit with a six pack, unless we are leaning against a chain link fence. What is important is getting out and going for it. One of my favorite sayings is "Inch by inch, life's a cinch. By the yard, life is hard." Much like life, we will take each obstacle and turn it into a Zen moment.
There are obstacle races around the world. Participate in one and let us know. If you have other challenges or obstacles to overcome that are specific to you, let us know, too. We want to knuckle bump, high five or do a whooptie dance. Join us in a celebration of life.
